Fenerbahçe players continued preparing for this week's Gaziantepspor game with a practice session at Samandıra on Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Canaries practiced without six players who are currently injured or sick. Manager Christoph Daum motivated his squad on Wednesday, telling them, "As a team, you have very big potential. We can always make new beginnings. This league is not over yet."

Yellow Canaries captain Alexsandro de Souza spoke about the team's decaying form in recent games and stated that every player was responsible for all the bad results. Following last weekend's goalless draw with Gençlerbirliği, Alex wrote an editorial on his personal website stating, "We still have a shot at winning the league title, but our hopes are diminishing every week."

The Turkcell Süper Lig has a new leader, and that leader is Bursaspor.  The Green Crocs now sit atop the table after a decision from the Turkish Football Federation Tuesday.  The TFF have awarded Bursa a 3-0 victory following their cancelled match in week 24 against Diyarbakırspor, and the three points have boosted them to the top of the standings.

After having a one-day break, Fenerbahçe players resumed preparations for their upcoming Gaziantepspor game with a double practice session on Tuesday. The Yellow Canaries pledged to never give up, as coach Christoph Daum reminded his players that their Ziraat Turkish Cup Semi-Final was also round the corner. Several players again were absent through injuries and sickness.

Dutch manager Guus Hiddink arrived in Istanbul and attended a press conference where he signed the contract officially making him Milli Takım head coach. "The future of Turkish football is very bright. I was really impressed by the TFF's projects. From now on, I am fully devoted to the Milli Takım job," Guus Hiddink told reporters. Hiddink also stated that Turkey's Milli Takım will adopt an attacking style of football.

Cristian Baroni Expected to Miss Galatasaray Derby

Canaries defensive midfielder Cristian Baroni is possibly crossed out of Fener's upcoming Galatasaray derby, two weeks from now. According to reports in the Turkish press, the Brazilian player diagnosed with a muscle tear in the back of his right leg will be out of action for at least three weeks. Cristian is expected to miss fixtures against Gaziantepspor (home), Galatasaray (away) and Kayserispor (home).

Fenerbahçe striker Gökhan Ünal spoke to reporters after Saturday's Gençlerbirliği draw and commented that his header that hit the post in the 80th minute was very "unfortunate". The 27-year-old goalscorer also spoke about the shoulder injury he picked up during the game stating, "I can't raise my arm, but maybe it's just a bruise. If we had won the game, my injury wouldn't have mattered so much."
