The Turkish National Football Team have returned back from their two-week United States tour. Milli Takım players and technical staff arrived at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport on Tuesday morning. "Despite it being at the end of the season, the training camp was very fruitful. All the players showed admirable will," said TFF executive Levent Kızıl, responsible of national teams.
Turkey's Milli Takım have completed their two-week tour of the United States and have returned back to Istanbul. Crescent Stars players and the techical staff arrived at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, Tuesday morning at 7 am. TFF executive Levent Kızıl, responsible of national teams spoke prior to the team's departure on Monday.
"Despite it being at the end of the season, the training camp was very fruitful. All the players showed admirable will," said Levent Kızıl. "It was also a very important occassion for Guus Hiddink to get to know the players and bond with the team. I believe that we will start seeing the fruits of this training camp in the EURO 2012 qualifying games that will begin in September," commented the TFF executive.
Head coach Guus Hiddink -who will officially take reins in August- is also reported to be pleased with Milli Takım's performance rate during the United States tour. There, the Crescent Stars played three exhibition games. Cruising through two wins against the Czech Republic and Northern Ireland last week and bowing out to two second-half goals from the US National Soccer Team on Saturday.
According to a report in Tuesday's edition of Milliyet, Emre Belözoğlu, Arda Turan, Volkan Demirel, and Sabri Sarıoğlu did not return with the Milli Takım and preferred to stay in the United States to begin their summer holidays. Turkey head coach Guus Hiddink, in the meantime, left seperately and went straight to the Netherlands.
Milliyet also reports that Guus Hiddink has prepared a flexible tactical system for the Milli Takım and will execute three different formations, 4-4-2 / 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3, according to the level of difficulty of each opponent in the EURO 2012 qualifiers. Turkey will be playing in Group A, against Germany, Austria, Belgium, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Head coach Guus Hiddink and assistant coach Oğuz Çetin are expected to travel to South Africa and watch the World Cup finals in place. Turkey's Milli Takım also have an upcoming international friendly against Romania in August.
