After Monday's friendly win over KRC Genk, Fenerbahçe were back on the training pitch twice Tuesday. The Yellow Canaries are getting ready to face archrivals Galatasaray Wednesday in the Spor Toto Friendly Cup, which will be held at the Borussia Park Stadium in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
Fener were back on the training pitch for two sessions Tuesday as they get ready for Galatasaray. The team met Tuesday morning at 10:30 for the first practice, which lasted approximately 90 minutes. Head coach Aykut Kocaman, assistants Fahrudin Ömeroviç and İsmail Kartal, trainer Turgay Altay, conditioner Alper Aşçı, goalkeepers' coach Murat Öztürk, and data analyst / scout Arda Keskin all watched on Tuesday.
The players that participated in Monday's friendly did not train Tuesday morning. Instead, those footballers received treatment at the hotel, doing work in the pool and sauna. Mehmet Topuz and Colin Kazım-Richards did not participate due to injury. The players that did practice started with running and coordination work, then moved on to passing and ball catching routines. Coach Murat Öztürk worked seperately with the goalkeepers during this time. After missing practice time previously, striker Semih Şentürk returned to join his teammates on Tuesday. After their earlier work, the team wrapped up the morning session with a team scrimmage.
The squad met again Tuesday night at 19:00 for their second practice session of the day. The evening session at Genk Stadium lasted approximately an hour and ten minutes.
The team started with some conditioning, then coordination, strength, and endurance training Tuesday night. They then divided into two groups to work on passing and catching routines. Coach Murat Öztürk worked seperately with the goalkeepers during this time. Selçuk Şahin, Mehmet Topuz, and Gökhan Ünal did not practice Tuesday night due to injury. All three received treatment at the team hotel.
The team will meet again for practice Wednesday morning. That session at Genk Stadium will begin at 10:30 local time.
